My card was inspired by the wood floors, different shades of greenery and touches of gold in the inspiration photo.  I hope you like the finished results as much as I do!

Merry Monday #98

When I think of country charm, a quilt always comes to mind, so I was inspired to create the look of a red and white quilt on my card.  It came together so very easily with the use of a star punch, some card stock and a bit of glue. I wanted to keep the overall look clean and graphic, so I added a single button and faux stitching with a marker. To finish the card, I chose a sentiment from the Special Season stamp set from Stampin' Up!

It's time for a new challenge at Merry Monday!  I hope you'll join me and the rest of the Merry Monday design team this week!  Here's the inspiration photo and details for this week's challenge:

I created a clean and simple card featuring snowflakes punched from silver foil card stock. I love how they look against the Coastal Cabana background! The sentiment was stamped in silver metallic ink, then heat embossed to add a little extra shine.  As a finishing touch, adhesive rhinestones were added to the center of each snowflake.  I hope you like the final result as much as I do!  Please leave me a comment below and let me know what you think!

Merry Monday #96

It's Monday and that means we have a new challenge for you this week at Merry Monday! I hope you'll play along with us this week.  Here's the inspiration photo and details for this week's challenge:

I created a clean and simple card featuring holly from the retired Peaceful Season set from Stampin' Up! The holly image was stamped a few times in metallic gold on white card stock and gold adhesive rhinestones were added over the berries.  The sentiment was stamped in metallic gold, then heat embossed.  A strip of gold glitter paper was added at the bottom of the paper for visual balance, then the whole panel was added to a Sahara Sand card base with dimensionals.  I love the gold and white against the Sahara Sand! PPA190 Color Challenge

 

We have a new Color Challenge (PPA190) for you this week at Pals Paper Arts, hosted by the PPA Resident Artists of Team 1!  Here's the beautiful color palette we're working with!

My clean and simple card features a stamped and punched flower from the Flower Shop set.  I love the rhinestone embellished flower against the textured woodgrain background! The pinks are such a great contrast against the gray!  A flower needs some greenery, so I added some altered die-cut leaves.  To finish things off, a double banner was made from card stock and designer paper to feature the stamped sentiment.  This card looks a bit time consuming, but it really came together quickly and easily!

Merry Monday #93

It's time for another Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge!  Here are the details and the inspiration photo for this week's challenge to help you get started:

I'm still stuck on stars and decided to use the Simply Stars stamp set to create the ornaments for my card.  I stamped and embossed them, snipped them out, added some sparkly Baker's twine, then popped them up on dimensionals.  A wide band of gold glimmer paper and an embossed sentiment add visual balance to the overall layout.  Super simple yet very elegant!  I hope you like the final results as much as I do!  Please let me know what you think by leaving me a comment!  I really love sharing my work with you and love hearing from you too!

PPA188 Sketch Challenge

It's time for another Sketch Challenge (PPA188) at Pals Paper Arts, hosted by the Resident Artists of Team 1!  I think you'll like the versatility of the simple sketch I've designed for you this week.  I hope you'll get out your papercrafting supplies and join us for this challenge!

I created a clean and simple card that showcases one of the papers available for free during Stampin' Up!'s upcoming Sale-A-Bration promotion (January 28 - March 31, 2014).  I chose colors used in the paper for my punched flower (Summer Starfruit, Whisper White and Crisp Cantaloupe) and die cut leaves (Pool Party and Pistachio Pudding).  I really love the contrast of the colorful paper and the flower against the soft Sahara Sand card base!  Pool Party was used to stamp and stack the sentiment, adding a subtle presence and balance to the overall layout.  Fresh, modern and fun!

A New Beginning at Merry Monday

There's so many things you can do with ribbon or twine!  I decided to try to mimic the look of the popular sunburst design, but incorporate stars in the design instead!  If you follow my blog, you've probably noticed I've been kind of hooked on stars lately!  The gold-threaded twine, gold glitter paper and gold embossed sentiment really make a statement together against the clean white background.  I hope you like it as much as I do!

Happy New Year and PPA186

Happy New Year to you and yours!  We're starting 2014 off with a new Color Challenge (PPA186) at Pals Paper Arts!  I hope you'll join me and my fellow Resident Artists from Team #1 and create a card using the following trendy color combo:

In case you haven't noticed, gold is everywhere in fashion and home decor these days!  Even brass, the poor man's gold, is making a comeback!  At PPA this week, we've paired gold with Island Indigo and Whisper White to create a fresh, modern color trio that really looks sharp together! 

I created a clean and simple card that requires minimal supplies and very little time to put together!  I love the contrast of the gold stars against Island Indigo!  Adhesive rhinestones add extra sparkle and complement the metallic sheen of the stars.  A stamped sentiment from Sweet Essentials allows the card to be used for a birthday or New Year's greeting.  The results are quick, shiny and fun!  Please let me know what you think by leaving me a comment below!  I really appreciate your feedback and always enjoy hearing from you!

PPA184 Sketch Challenge

We have a new Sketch Challenge (PPA184) for you this week at Pals Paper Arts!  I hope you'll be inspired to get out your supplies and join us for this challenge!  This versatile sketch can easily be dressed up or down to work for any occasion!

I created a clean and simple graduation card for a family friend who recently graduated from The University of Texas at Austin!  UT's colors are burnt orange and white, so Cajun Craze and Whisper White worked perfectly for this collegiate color scheme.  In place of the sketch's circle element, I used a large star from the Simply Stars set. The image is a perfect iconic symbol for Texas, the Lone Star State.  A smaller star was added to the center and embellished with a small colored rhinestone to add a bit of sparkle.  I really like how it turned out and I hope you do too!
