All the stockings are hung this week at Merry Monday! Get a jump on your Christmas cards and join us for this fun challenge! Here's our inspiration photo to get you started!
For my card, I wanted to create the illusion of a mantle on which to hang my stockings. I cut a border strip of colorful Christmas lights from a piece of designer paper and adhered it to a strip of scored card stock. I attached red and white Baker's twine underneath that and adhered the stockings and Santa's hat with dimensionals. The stockings and hat were cut from designer paper as well. For the finishing touch, I stamped a seasonal sentiment from the Sweet Essentials set in Poppy Parade. I love this bright and cheery card and I hope you do to! Please let me know what you think by leaving me a comment below!
All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:
Stamps: Sweet Essentials
Paper: Pool Party, Poppy Parade (retired) card stock; Christmas DSP Stack (Recollections)
Ink: Poppy Parade (retired)
Tools: Scoring board, 3/16" Corner Punch, Paper Snips, Stamp-a-ma-jig
Extras: Red/White Baker's Twine (Doodlebug Designs), Stampin' Dimensionals, Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive
OMG this is cuter than cute! Such fun colors and I still applaud that you are again making Christmas cards!!! I can't begin to think about that right now.
hugs

Love it! Possibly one of your best ever, and that's quite a statement! I've got to try those pennants or something on the string..love that effect. Have got lots of things I want to order. Will be getting in touch soon.

This is a cute little scene that you have created...really like how you cut out those darling little stockings and attached them to the string.
This is my first Merry Monday challenge that I have entered and I am so glad I did...I have gotten so many ideas for Christmas cards this first challenge.
and YOU have me go back and look at the cute Christmas Designer paper pack that I just purchased with stockings on it...I think I feel a case coming on...
