Today's card was made for this week's Inspiration Challenge (PPA89) at Pals Paper Arts! I was inspired to create a few of the flowers featured in the inpsiration photo (shown below) and, for the most part, I'm pleased with the results! The color palette is something I would never choose on my own (you can see I ignored the blue), so it truly was a challenge for me to work with! My flowers remind me of all the pretty enamel flower pins in my mother's jewelry box that I admired so much as a little girl! I loved any opportunity to look through that box! A sweet memory!
Speaking of memories...I recently had the opportunity to get together with three former colleagues, Debbie, Jennifer, and Karol. We taught 1st grade together during the late 80s and early 90s. We had a amazing time teaching together and had so much fun with our kids! We're all at different schools now, in different positions, some of us in different cities, but we've managed to stay in touch throughout the years and remain friends. Karol hosted our mini-reunion in her beautiful new home, where we laughed and ate and laughed and ate some more! So much FUN..like we'd never been apart!
The card is now on its way to Karol's house as a "thank you" for feeding us and helping us remember and laugh! Anyone who knows Karol will tell you she's "one-of-a-kind" and sort of retro herself, so this card is perfect for her! Love ya, Karol!
