My house was built in 1940 and that makes it 70 years old this year! It's very classic in styling, well-built, and full of charm and character! Even though it received a major interior update 9 years ago when I purchased it, there always seems to be something around the house (either inside or out) that needs to be done! This week's Anything BUT a Card Challenge (PPA26) at Pals Paper Arts gave me the perfect opportunity to create this "Around the House" Project Book to keep track of house-related projects, the necessary materials needed, and vendor/contractor information. I was so excited when I found the black & white striped composition book at a local discount store! The classic stripes compliment perfectly the hand-drawn look of the stamped houses from the Neighborhood Jumbo Wheel (one of my favorites)! I added color to my house using ink from my stamp pads and a blender pen. I created my "Around the House" title on my computer and printed it in black onto Old Olive card stock, matting it with Basic Black. Black brads at each corner mimic the look of nails and Real Red Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon "ties" it all together! An Old Olive Library Clip was added for convenience, the perfect place to attach a little reminder note, a materials list, or a receipt that needs to be saved!
JOIN THE FUN! Come "play along" with us at Pals Paper Arts this week! Post your Anything BUT a Card creation at PPA before Mr. Linky closes at 12:00 NOON CST on Tuesday, January 26th!
All supplies used are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:
Stamps: Neighborhood Jumbo Wheel
Paper: Real Red, Old Olive, Basic Black, Whisper White card stock
Ink: Basic Black, Summer Sun, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Basic Gray
Tools: Stampin' Around Jumbo Handle, Stampin' Around Wheel Guide, Blender Pens
Extras: Vintage Brads (Black), 3/4" Real Red Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Sticky Strip, 1/2" Library Clips (Old Olive)
Great design! You are right those stripes are a perfect background. And I always like a little unexpected soemthing - like that library clip - love it!

Cute idea Margaret! I may have to recreate this for my 'honey-do' list - that I am told all to often 'you didn't ask me to do that'. Now I'll have proof LOL

Oh my goodness! I love this idea. And so cute! My husband and I have a long list of maintenance projects that need to be performed on a regular basis. Now I have a plausible excuse for some crafting time. Thanks for sharing!
