PPA128 Color Challenge

Red is my favorite color, so this week's Color Challenge (PPA128) at Pals Paper Arts makes me very happy!  The challenge is to use ANY color of red to create a card!  I chose Riding Hood Red and Cherry Cobbler for my shades of red and used them to feature one of my favorite stamps, Sweet Floral!  I believe in making design work for you and this gorgeous image is so striking, it can easily stand alone!  It doesn't need a lot of added embellishment, hence the clean and simple look of my design.  This quick and easy card could work for so many different occasions!  Just change the sentiment to fit the occasion!

PPA118 - Celebrity Color Challenge

Pals Paper Arts is hosting a Celebrity Color Challenge (PPA118) this week, inviting you to "play along" with our celebrity guest artist, the very talented Carrie Gaskin!  Carrie and the PPA Design Team are showcasing an array of papercrafted creations using the fabulous color trio of Early Espresso, Soft Suede, and River Rock!  Everyone is invited to play the PPA challenge using your favorite paper crafting brands and supplies.  Our challenge is not exclusive to Stampin’ Up! products only!

My card features an image from one of my favorite new stamp sets, Nature's Pace!  I used the thistle image to stamp a background and create the look of patterned paper!  A wide band of Early Espresso card stock anchors the bottom of the card and complements the stamped thistle pattern.  Faux ribbon, created with striped patterned paper in Soft Suede, adds a tailored touch to the card and serves as the perfect backdrop for the featured sentiment!  Clean, easy and so very elegant!

PPA101 - Celebrity Color Challenge

Pals Paper Arts is hosting a Celebrity Color Challenge (PPA101) this week showcasing the work of the very talented Canadian stamper, Lesley Croghan!  Many of you know Lesley from her Paper Players challenge blog, where she hosts fun papercrafting challenges each week, just like we do at PPA!

My card for this week's challenge is simple, clean, and very contemporary!  I featured the trio of blues in a trio of embossed floral circles from Just Believe.  By combining floral pattern with additional patterns of stripe and text, this very simple layout receives a lot of eye-catching interest!  Notice the neat and very tailored paper bow atop the faux ribbon?  According to "those in the know" who follow papercrafting trends, paper bows are supposed to be "hot" this year!  Who knew??!!

PPA40 - A Tribute to Blue

We're showcasing BLUE at Pals Paper Arts this week with a Monochromatic Challenge (PPA40)!  Today's card features one of my favorite blue shades from Stampin' Up!, Ballet Blue!  It also features stamps from not one, but five different stamp sets by Stampin' Up!  Wondering where I got those matching star buttons?  I made them myself using a Circle punch, some adhesive, the smallest stamp from the Seeing Stars set, and a paper piercing tool!
