A New Sketch at PPA

It's time for a new Sketch Challenge (PPA159) at Pals Paper Arts!  Sketches are a great starting point for creating a card because the hardest part of what to put where has been decided for you!  All you have to do is decide on your color scheme and what elements you are going to use!  Keep it simple or make it elaborate!  The possibilities are endless! 

Even though I featured vintage themed papers from the Story Time DSP pack, this card is definitely clean and simple!  I love the papers from this group because they remind me of the Dick & Jane readers I learned to read from in elementary school!

PPA158 Color Challenge

We have a new trio of colors for you to play with at Pals Paper Arts!  Get out your supplies and join us for this Color Challenge (PPA158) using Pool Party, Summer Starfruit and Lucky Limeade!

This fresh color combo inspired a clean and simple card featuring angled bands of color.  This graphic layout really complements the angled style of the message snipped from the Hello, Hello single stamp from Stampin' Up!  Score lines were added to the reverse side of the Lucky Limeade band to bring emphasis to the sentiment and the punched flower embellishment.  Super simple, modern and pleasing to the eye!  I hope you like it as much as I do!

Baby Card for Friend

The design for this cute onesie card by Lauren Meader has been around for quite some time in the papercrafting world!  I needed a card for a special friend who is expecting her very first baby in May!  Can you tell by the print pattern and colors what she's having?  If you guessed a girl, you're right!  I'm terrible about making a card to give away and forgetting to photograph it before doing so.  I had some extra time to snap a shot of it and post it to share!  This design is fun to make using solids or different patterned prints and can easily be adapted for a boy or a girl!  Enjoy!

PPA144 Color Challenge

Fall has begun and we've got the perfect color combo to inspire you for our new Color Challenge (PPA144) at Pals Paper Arts!  Join the fun and play along, using More Mustard, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso (or similar colors) to create your card! 

I chose to keep my card clean and simple to highlight the cluster of flowers made with punches and brads.  I added a few punched leaves, some houndstooth embossing, and linen thread to finish out the card.  It really came together quickly and easily!  This card could work for any occasion by simply changing out the sentiment.  I love it and I hope you do too!  If you like my card, please leave me a comment!  It's always great to hear from you and I enjoy your feedback!

PPA143 Sketch Challenge

We have a new Sketch Challenge (PPA143) at Pals Paper Arts and we hope you'll join the fun and play along!  This sketch is super simple was designed for showcasing a beautiful designer paper or some wonderful stamped images!  I really hope you'll give it a try!

For my masculine card, I chose to stay fairly true to the sketch and show off a great map patterned paper!  Maps are really trendy right now in cardmaking and scrapbooking!  I kept everything simple and clean to highlight the beauty of the map and the gorgeous colors in the paper!  This card is a perfect example of making the paper work for you!  A sentiment from the Word Play stamp set is the perfect complement for this DSP and features a separate stamped and snipped image of the world popped up with a single dimensional!  A quick and easy card that requires very few supplies!

PPA139 Sketch Challenge

It's time for another Sketch Challenge (PPA139) at Pals Paper Arts!  We hope you join us this week and give this new sketch a try!  It's a great sketch for showing off some fun patterned papers!  My bold and bright card features some papercrafted flowers as added embellishments.  I took the liberty of exchanging the rectangle for a matted label to feature my sentiment.  I love these colors together!  I really like the end result and hope you do too!

PPA138 Color Challenge

We have a new Color Challenge (PPA138) at Pals Paper Arts using Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, and Cherry Cobbler! 

The inspiration for this simple card came from a card created by Nichole Heady.  It features elements and a quote from two of my favorite sets.  The options for working with this color combo are many, so I hope you'll get out your supplies and join us for the challenge!

PPA116 - Sketch Challenge

We're offering you a Sketch Challenge (PPA116) this week at Pals Paper Arts, hoping you'll join in the fun and "play along" with me and my fellow Pals at PPA!  I've designed a simple and versatile sketch that I'm sure you'll find will work for almost any occasion!  Today's card features one of my favorite new stamps, Sweet Floral!  The card's design evokes a traditional feel with the botanical floral image, but the unusual color palette is definitely fresh and contemporary!  Because the stamped and watercolored image takes center stage, it was important the rest of the card remain clean and not too fussy!  The results?  Elegant, yet simple and understated!

PPA114 - Color Challenge

It's time for another Color Challenge (PPA114) at Pals Paper Arts and we're asking you to use Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade, and Pumpkin Pie to create a card this week for PPA!  This bold seasonal color trio could easily be used for a Fall, Halloween, or Thanksgiving themed card or anything else that strikes your fancy!  I chose to create a clean and contemporary card with a traditional twist, utilizing my Big Shot, a Sizzlits die, and a Textured Impressions embossing folder!  Fast, fun, and easy!
