PPA57 - Simply Sketchy

It's Thursday and that means it's time for another challenge at Pals Paper Arts!  We're hosting a Sketch Challenge (PPA57) this week and the PPA Design Team and this week's Featured Artist, Martha Stewart, have created some gorgeous cards to inspire you to play along! 

When I designed this sketch, I had versatility in mind!  The clean and simple layout can be easily dressed up or dressed down.  You could even flip it sideways or upside down for an entirely different look! 

Make it work!  For my card, I chose to make the beautiful Designer Series Paper work for me!  It sets the tone for this simple yet elegant card!  The striking flowers in the patterned paper really pop against the contrasting colors.

Quick and easy!  Minimal stamping required!  This card was created in less than 15 minutes!  If you have a great layout and a beautiful patterned paper to feature, all you need to add is a simple stamped sentiment and a few added embellishments (optional)!

PPA56 - Inspiration Challenge

Today's card was made for the weekly challenge hosted by Pals Paper Arts (PPA56), an Inspiration Challenge.  The exciting inspiration photo at right shows you the painted tray and pearl flower pin (notice the "enameled" leaves) I used as inspiration for my card (click on the actual photo for an enlarged view).  This creation was made using card stock, stamps, and tools from Stampin' Up!

PPA55 - Color Challenge

 

It's time for another Color Challenge (PPA55) at Pals Paper Arts and this week we're bringing you card creations made using Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, and Daffodil Delight, plus the chance to win some great Blog Candy!  This clean and simple card was easy to make and offers the opportunity to mix some great paper patterns without being too fussy!  The single flower embellishment was made using the versatile Stampin' Up! punches and finished with an adhesive rhinestone center.  The fun and trendy text style sentiment was stamped using Stampin' Up!'s Clear Mount stamps and blocks.

PPA54 - A Masculine KISS!

We've added a definite twist to this week's challenge at Pals Paper Arts by challenging you to create a Masculine KISS card (PPA54)!  KISS stands for "Keep It Simple, Sweetie!" and challenges you to use less not more when making your card!  The following are suggested guidelines for creating a KISS card:

• Clean with lots of white space
• Simple designs
• Minimum time to create
• Limited layers and embellishments

This masculine birthday card was not only simple to make, but quick and easy!  I started with my own sketch and added a great striped pattern from Stampin' Up! and added a strip of Chocolate Chip card stock to create a clean, horizontal border.  Circle and star embellishments were made using a 1" Circle punch and Star punch and enhanced with bronze Vintage Brads.  A simple birthday sentiment from All Holidays was stamped in Chocolate Chip to finish the card off!  Fast, clean, and simple!
