Pals Swap Card

Stampin' Up! Leadership and Regionals were held in San Antonio last week!  I'm a member of Mary Fish's Stampin' Pretty Pals and we gathered between the two events for dinner and a card swap!  I made the card pictured above for the swap.  I received so many beautiful cards in return and I'll be sharing some of those cards with you later in the week!  It was so great to meet so many of the Pals face-to-face, especially Mary!

Swap Sneak Peek

Offering you a sneak peek of the card I made for a swap with some of the Stampin' Pretty Pals!  We met this past weekend at the Stampin' Up! Leadership and Regional Conferences that were held in San Antonio!  Stop by tomorrow for the full reveal!  See you Tuesday!

The Circle of LOVE

If you follow my blog, you know I love bright colors!  I also love bold, graphic designs too!  This card features all of those elements in a simple and fun Valentine card!  I LOVE all the colored circles grouped together and the one lone heart, don't you?  The colors really POP against the black background!  Inspiration for this card came from my daughter's umbrella (click on the photo to enlarge the photo and see the design up close).  And, yes!  That's my beautiful daughter (whom you can't see) hiding behind the umbrella (Thanks, G!)!

My interpretation of the design is quite literal and it's easy to recreate with a few punches (see supplies below).  The black background was trimmed to 4"x5" to accomodate the colored circles and the card base is 4-1/4"x5-1/4".  Get out your punches and give it a try!

PPA127 Sketch Challenge

The second challenge for January at Pals Paper Arts is a Sketch Challenge (PPA127) using this simple sketch I designed for you (shown left)!  I hope you'll join us and give it a try!  I associate the color gray with the dreary winter days of January.  Add sunny yellow to the mix and those blah, gray days seem a bit brighter and happier!  Flowers make it even that much better!  One of my favorite sentiments on the card says it all!

Another PPA Sneak Peek!

Changes

It's Tuesday and I'm posting to my blog (I know, it's hard to believe)!!!  If you're one of my regular readers, you know this is unusual because I normally post once a week (for Pals Paper Arts, not including an occasional sneak peek here and there)!  I've set some goals (I did say goals, not resolutions) for myself this year to make some changes on my blog and one of those is to post more often!  I'm hoping it's a change you'll welcome and look forward to because I truly love sharing my work with you!  I don't want to reveal all of my planned changes at once (I need to keep your curiosity at a peak), so you'll need to continue coming back as the year progresses to find out what other changes I have planned!

I have two cards instead of one to share with you today (the thank you card shown above and the thinking of you card shown below)!  I wanted to show you how changing simple elements, such as the card's base color, the sentiment, and/or an added embellishment, can really change the look and purpose of a card!  These are easy changes to make and the results can be dramatic!  I like the results on both cards and I hope you do too!

A New Year, New Changes!

Change is always associated with the coming of the new year and 2012 is no exception!  I'll be sharing some of my plans for change on my blog with you in the next few weeks!  If you don't receive e-mails of my blog updates as a reader, be sure to subscribe to my blog so you can stay up-to-date with what's happening here!

New Year's is my chosen theme for the first PPA Color Challenge (PPA126) of 2012!  This bold, graphic design was easy and fun to make!  As always, my supply list is shown at the bottom of my post for your convenience.  If you have comments or questions about my card, please leave me a comment or send me an e-mail!  I LOVE hearing from you and will do my best to answer any questions you have!

Pals Paper Arts has made some changes for 2012!  Those changes include some sad goodbyes, happy hellos, and changes concerning the challenges we offer and the schedule!  You can learn more about those changes by clicking here!   I'm excited to tell you I'm returning to the PPA Design Team again and bringing you more simple sketches to play with!  I love sharing the sketches and cards with you and I truly hope my work inspires you in some way!
